BRICKLAYERS SCAFFOLD

Bricklayers Scaffolding Romford, London & Essex

Five Oaks Access provide specialist scaffolding services for bricklayers across Romford, Greater London, Essex and the surrounding areas. Whether you need scaffold for a new build, an extension or a repointing job, we set it up properly for brickwork from day one.

We are a CHAS accredited scaffolding company based in Romford with over 30 years of experience. We work with bricklaying contractors, construction companies and domestic builders who need safe, stable platforms at the right working height.

What We Provide

Bricklayers need more from their scaffold than most trades. The platform has to be wide enough for materials, set at the right height for the course being laid, and adjusted regularly as the wall rises. We take all of this into account before we start.

We supply both independent scaffolding (freestanding, ideal for new builds) and putlog scaffolding (supported by the existing brickwork, ideal for extensions and repointing). Your site and project type will determine which is the best option.

Feature Independent Scaffold Putlog Scaffold
Support Freestanding, two rows of standards Single row with putlogs into brickwork
Best for New builds, commercial projects Extensions, repointing, domestic work
Speed Moderate Faster to erect
Load capacity Higher, suits heavy block loads Moderate, lighter duty

Projects We Cover

New builds – Independent scaffold erected before brickwork begins and raised as the walls go up. We coordinate lift adjustments with your site programme so there is no waiting around.

Extensions and conversions – House extensions, garage conversions and loft conversions across Romford, Brentwood, Chelmsford and surrounding areas. Putlog scaffolding works well here as it uses less space and is quicker to put up.

Repointing and repairs – Scaffold set at the right height for brickwork repairs, chimney rebuilds and restoration work. Common across the older housing stock in Romford, East London and Essex.

Why It Matters

The right scaffold setup means better brickwork. Platforms at the correct height keep your joints clean and your line accurate. Enough board width means materials are within reach, not stacked on the ground. And regular lift adjustments keep you working efficiently instead of stretching or bending all day.

We also carry out regular scaffold inspections to keep your site compliant with the Work at Height Regulations 2005.

Common Questions

How much does bricklayers scaffolding cost?

It depends on height, length, hire period and the number of lift adjustments. A domestic extension scaffold in Romford might start from around £500 to £800. We provide free quotes for every job.

How long does it take to put up?

A typical domestic extension can usually be scaffolded within a day. Larger projects may take two to three days.

Do I need a pavement licence?

If the scaffold goes onto a public pavement or highway, yes. We can help you through the council application process for Havering and other local authorities we work with.

How often does it need inspecting?

Every 7 days under the Work at Height Regulations, plus after any event that could affect stability such as strong winds.

Can you raise the scaffold as the wall goes up?

Yes. Lift adjustments are part of the service and we schedule them into your project plan.

Are you CHAS accredited?

Yes. Five Oaks Access Ltd is CHAS accredited and fully insured.
