All of it. We're based in Romford and work right across the capital and the surrounding home counties - see our North London, East London, South London and West London pages for the boroughs covered in each. If you're not sure whether we come to you, give us a ring; we almost certainly do.

Domestic scaffolding in London is priced on the height, the length of the elevation, how many lifts you need and how long it's up for - so a single chimney tower and a full wraparound on a four-storey house are very different numbers. We'll give you a fixed written price and it won't change unless you ask us to change the scaffold.

If the scaffold stands on the pavement, road or any other public land, yes - your borough will need to issue a licence before it goes up. If it sits entirely within your own boundary, usually not. We apply for the licence on your behalf and tell you what the council charges before you commit, so there's nothing to sort out yourself.

Most standard two-storey houses are done in a few hours to a day. Larger properties or wraparound scaffolds usually take one to two days. We'll confirm when we quote, and we'll give you a date rather than a vague window.

If the scaffold is entirely on your own property you don't have to, though it's worth a word - people are far more relaxed about it when they've been told first. If it needs to stand on their land or overhang their boundary, you do need their permission. Where that's the case we'll speak to them and agree access before anything arrives.

We remove ladders or fit ladder guards at the end of each day so the scaffold can't be climbed from ground level, and alarms can be fitted on request. It's also worth letting your home insurer know the scaffold is up - most are fine with it, but they like to be told.

No. We stand the scaffold on base plates and sole boards to spread the weight, and protect driveways and paving where needed. Ties go into mortar joints rather than brickwork, and we make them good when the scaffold comes down. If there's anything you're particularly worried about - a lawn, planting, a resin drive - tell us at the quote stage and we'll plan around it.

Our standard hire period is set out in your quote, with a weekly rate after that. If the job runs on, tell us and the scaffold stays - we'd rather extend than have you rushing the work. Where a council licence is involved, we'll renew it for you.

Depending on our availability we typically need a few days notice for a straightforward domestic job, longer if a council licence is needed, as different London boroughs take different times to issue one. If you're up against it, ring us - we can often move things around.

Yes. Lifts can be added, sections altered and platforms moved as the work changes. Give us a ring and we'll come out - it's a normal part of the job, not a new one.

Yes. A lot of the builders, roofers and renderers we work with use us regularly, and we'll set up account terms so you're not raising a new quote every time. Get in touch to discuss terms.
